I recommend creating a smart group that has macs not on monterey and scope it out to those. I think you need to add this script to your Jamf Instance, then create a Policy that executes the the script by a button press in Self-Service. I still perfer to use Graham's Erase-install app/script, because it is interactive and presents a 'progress' status so that the user actually understands what is going on AND (of course) it solves the initial problem. I could be wrong about it all tho cause i'm no script master. It's an interesting script, and I wonder how it would work because it looks like it only ever uses the FVpassword and I don't see anything about elevating an Admin password. # Pulls the current logged in user and their UIDĬurrUser=$(ls -l /dev/console | awk ' default button "Re-Enter Password" with icon file messageIconĮcho $fvPass | /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Monterey.app/Contents/Resources/startosinstall -agreetolicense -forcequitapps -nointeraction -user $currUser -stdinpass

Below is the script which utilizes FileVault and allows the update to run on M1 devices logged in as a standard user.
